Anybody know where Miss N's (and Harukami's and Writer's and Lina X's and a lot of other people's) Insane Ramblings went to? I can't find them in Miss N's section of Darkness Rising, or on Crimson Tears.
I've got parts 1-25 (I think) saved on my hard drive, and they're still some of my favorite fanfic-ish pieces ever. Please tell me there are more parts!
Oh, and hello, my name's Cherry and I like yaoi. And have you ever seen Trigun, Miss N?

We both started to BAWL at the end of the series....
but urmm yeah, i don't know where any of our old ramblings got to....Haru might know, just because she is all-knowing and wonderful. ;D

Haru recently sent me a bunch of the Ramblings not too long ago, actually... but they are not posted anywhere on the site.
I can't remember how many there were in total, come to think of it. You might very well have them all!
Nice to meet you, btw. ^__^ Trigun was wonderful. Wolfwood's my favourite... *loves her stick-comics*

You guys like Trigun, huh? Eeeexcellent.
Too bad my shrine to Nick sucks so bad right now. DON'T GO! It hasn't been updated in forever. And in a fit of spite, I added a piece of cometcursor code! I succumbed to temptation, okay? The cursor looks like the Portable Confessional.
...At the risk of being rude, why aren't there any more insane ramblings? Didn't they start as a sort of "I'm bored and have writer's block so I'll write funny stuff!" project? Why not just write more, or have you all gotten tired of them?
Also, my only gripe... near the end (circa #24-25, I believe), you all started getting into series with characters I'd never heard of. Perhaps a character/series guide would be handy...?
Thanks muchly for the answers, Kitten and Miss N.
PS-Have either of you ever seen the Chris Wylde show? It used to come on Comedy Central here in the States, like around last year... I think it was cancelled, which is bullshit, because it was a Great Source of Entertainment. And Chris vaguely reminds me of Vash. That would make his guest host (Ryan "40" Walsh) the Obligatory Wolfwood Stand-In, yes?
If you care to find any episodes on the internet (like through a file-sharing program), I'd like to suggest the episodes featuring "Chris Wylde Teaches Spanish to a Cactus" and the only episode I presently have on tape... wherein Chris attends a FABulous gay pride parade. Much fun was had by all.
--Cherry, who will shut up and go away now.

To answer the question about the ramblings... yes, that's exactly how they started. I'd be bored and suffering from writer's block so I'd write fun crap in order to jab my brain awake. Eventually I started writing them jointly with OTHER people... most often the amazing Harukami. These took a LONG time to do as both of us had a tendancy to get swamped inboxes.
As for unfamilar characters... those were probably non-anime folk like Yurimaru who were featured in original fiction by either myself or Haru or other authors who co-wrote the ramblings... I honestly can't remember half of who we had in those things.
I haven't written a rambling in... *thinks* wow, a REALLY long time and I have no intentions of starting them again. There's a few reasons for this... For one thing, I've found other funny-retarded things to waste my time with, like 'Jinks' and the Japanese Flannel. For another, they were starting to get out of hand... People were constantly e-mailing me and asking if they could "please be in a rambling!" At first this was flattering but after a while it was just irritating. I don't like writing with people I don't KNOW, and it's awfully hard to create comedic situations with people you aren't on the same wavelength with. (This is why the ramblings with Haru were always the most fun... she knows what makes me tick)
I also found that often people who wanted to be in a rambling had no interest at all in a 'plot' and just wanted to self-insert themselves so they could grope bishounen. I think the funniest ramblings were the ones that at least had SOME sort of storyline, no matter how ridiculous... the Rabid Akio being one of my all-time faves.
And I must be honest... it was mildly annoying that all anyone ever commented on was the ramblings rather than on anything I considered my 'real fics'.
So. The ramblings WERE a lot of fun (Love ya, Haru. *smooch smooch*) but I'd rather chew my arm off than start writing them again.
And no, I've never seen the Chris Wylde show, but it sounds like it might be amusing... If I get bored later and remember, I'll try downloading some clips. Thanks!

Yeah, Rabid Akio was definitely one of your best. Juuou-sama was written incredibly well... I wanted to see more of Rabid Miki, actually. Miki with no apparent morals or higher brain function (KIDDING! I'm kidding, Miki fans.) is just something that I never would have thought of.
A couple of the characters I was talking about were Kal and Bele, the angel and demon couple...

They were from Haru's "Fallen Things" which was taken off the internet due to fear of people ripping her off.

I dunno if anyone's checking this thread anymore cause it's kinda old but Cherry, do ya think you might be able to e-mail me the one's you have? Oh and by the way, I did stumble on on: members.tripod.com/~MissNightfall/utena.htmlif anyone cares, it happens to be the rabid Akio one, heh.
